Miley Cyrus publicly addresses Twitter abuse

Miley Cyrus has hit back at some cruel comments that she recently received on social networking site Twitter and urged its bosses to "take some responsibility" over what gets sent out.

The 'Can't Be Tamed' beauty, who recently injured her back, was the subject of unprovoked abuse earlier this week and instead of ignoring the derogatory remarks she decided to publicly stand up for herself and wrote:

"U have nothing better 2 do than hate? That saddens me. I'm surrounded by love I'm sorry 4 whatever happened 2 make u so bitter."

She also highlighted the fact that there is no censorship in place on the social networking site and called for Twitter's owners to both look at privacy settings and to filter the content being sent to users.

"I wont tolerate someone telling me 2 die. I think Twitter needs to take some responsibility and make it a safe environment!"
