'Glee' cast named 8th best-selling digital artist of all time

The cast of 'Glee' have collectively become the eighth best-selling digital artist of all time, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The talented singers and actors who regularly feature on the show have racked up over 32 million downloads internationally between them since the well-loved musical comedy series began.

This stunning figure has put them at No.8 on the top-selling digital artists list. Other stars named in the Top 10 include Katy Perry, Rihanna and Lady Gaga.

Glen Brunman, Columbia Records' soundtrack executive, explained that the 'Glee' phenomenon is incredibly inspirational and he can't believe how successful both the programme and the songs it covers have been:

"There has never been anything like GleeThe idea that 58 episodes of a television show can generate sales of 32 million downloads is simply staggering. We are deeply indebted to the artists and songwriters whose music inspires us all."

In addition to this, 'Glee' also holds the record for the most entries on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and is currently at a staggering 193, beating Elvis and The Beatles.
