Nick Cannon has opened up on his recent health problems, revealing that he is suffering from an autoimmune disease.

Cannon has previously suffered from kidney failure and recently was found to have blood clots in his lungs.

And he told People that his health problems have been instigated by a lupus-like autoimmune disease. He said:

"They kind of say [my] autoimmune [disease] is – like a lupus type of thing, but no one else in my family has it."

Cannon also admitted his shock at finding blood clots in his lungs, noting that he has known of others who have died from the condition. He said:

"The blood clot thing was probably the scariest because...I've known people who have passed away from that. I thought I was getting better, and then that happened, so that kind of came out of nowhere."
