Film producer Harvey Weinstein told the New York Post's Page Six that the singer was keen to take part in a mooted film about the life of the opera singer.

The role in question is to play the part of Potts' wife, with Adele also in the filmmakers' sights. Weinstein is reported to have said:

"I was talking to Katy about a new project, a possible dramatic role in the Paul Potts movie, which will be shooting in England soon. We'd really like someone like Katy or Adele to play the role of Potts' wife, and Katy seemed genuinely interested."
