Will.i.Am: 'Michael Jackson was keen to meet and work with Cheryl Cole'

Black Eyed Peas star Will.i.Am has revealed that a collaboration between Cheryl Cole and the King of Pop was on the cards.

The 'Boom Boom Pow' hitmaker explained to The People that he was planning to write a track for Michael Jackson and the 'Promise This' songstress to record together and he was interested in her as a performer:

"I told Michael Cheryl was the hottest thing in the UK and he was keen to meet her. I was gonna write them a song."

Jackson's untimely death in 2009 prevented the duet from ever happening, but Cole's solo career outside of Girls Aloud took off and she recently confirmed that her third album is now complete and ready for release
