The Monkees' Davy Jones thought chest pain was heartburn, says daughter

The daughter of late Monkees star Davy Jones has revealed that he had thought his chest pains was just heartburn.

His daughter Talia told the National Enquirer that her father had recently had health check-ups and that his heart was in good condition.

This prompted him to believe that his chest pain was merely just heartburn - however, he died on February 29 as the result of a massive heart attack. She said:

"My father just had all of these tests and everything came back great. He was told his heart was like a 25-year-old's. So when he continued to have pains in the chest area, he never thought it was anything but a bad case of heartburn. In fact, he needed more extensive testing to know what was going on."

She added that Jones lived a hectic life, perhaps suggesting that stress led to his health problems. She said:

"Of course there was stress. What stressed him was just living the lifestyle he did - literally going from one country to the next, one state to the next. He was always trying to do so much and please everybody."
