Rebecca Ferguson hopes to continue Brits' success in America

Rebecca Ferguson has revealed that she hopes to continue the Brits' recent run of success in America when she launches her career there later this year.

The 25-year-old Liverpudlian, who recently signed a worldwide publishing deal with EMI, told the Daily Star that she's keen to follow in the footsteps of The Wanted and One Direction with her debut album, Heaven:

“It’s amazing what Brits are doing in the US. I will release my music there in May. I’m excited to go over there. I have quite a few trips to America planned because my label are really positive. I have a lot of interviews and events already sorted out.”

The 2010 X-Factor runner-up, who filmed the video for her latest single, 'Too Good To Lose,' in Los Angeles, also revealed that Adele's success across the Atlantic has become a source of inspiration.

“I love Adele’s album. You listen and know she’s telling the truth.

“She’s had heartache. Her boyfriend wasn’t nice to her too. She’s not an untouchable artist. For me, that’s what I want to be.”
