Kimberley Walsh hints at new Girls Aloud studio album

Kimberley Walsh has hinted that Girls Aloud’s proposed reunion may lead to a new studio album.

Band-mate Nadine Coyle revealed last week that the quintet were hoping to stage an arena tour next year and possibly release two new singles to celebrate their tenth anniversary.

But Walsh, currently starring as Princess Fiona in the West End production of Shrek, told the Daily Star that more new material could be on its way:

“Me and the girls are chatting about ideas right now. It’s not definitely just a one-off single. That’s what we are talking about at the minute.

“We will have to see what happens but I’m certainly not ruling out a studio album just yet. It will be the Girls Aloud sound but moving forward with a twist.”

The 30-year-old, who recently stated she has no plans to pursue a solo music career of her own, also admitted that she was looking forward to the return of the original line-up of their former girl-band rivals:

“I’m really, really excited about the Sugababes reforming.

“It will be really good if we are both releasing at the same time because that’s how we started. We had a healthy rivalry and it will make us both raise our games.”
