One Direction set their sights on Queen's Diamond Jubilee gig

One Direction have revealed that they would love to perform at the upcoming Queen’s Diamond Jubilee concert at Buckingham Palace.

The X-Factor boyband, currently celebrating the success of their Billboard number one album, ‘Up All Night,’ told the Daily Mirror they are keen to appear at the June event, and ideally alongside Paul McCartney.

Harry said: “I’d love to meet Her Royal Highness. And I grew up listening to the Beatles ’cos my dad used to play them over and over again.

“I still listen to them now. They’re quite an inspiration. It’d be amazing if Paul McCartney was up for doing something... I love him. That would be incredible.

“We’ve got a lot of big plans but I’m sure anything would be struck out of the diary if an invitation came along.”

The 18-year-old, whose group announced their first headline North American tour yesterday, also revealed that they may team up with another rock icon, The Rolling Stones’ Ronnie Wood, in the future:

“We were at a party a while ago and Ronnie said he wanted to come on with us and play guitar. I love the Stones so I was like, ‘Cool’. It’d be amazing.'”
