Musical based on The Beatles to launch in London

A musical to honour The Beatles will be launched in the UK later this year.

'Let It Be', which has been described as inspired by the Fab Four's greatest hits, is set to begin on September 14 at the Prince of Wales Theatre in London's West End and will run until January 19.

The production will celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic group's first single, 'Love Me Do', which they released back in 1962.

It will also feature video footage of The Beatles' rise to fame as well as a full cast who will perform some of the best-loved tracks from their incredible career.

Although this marks the first time that theatrical rights to the group's back catalogue have been granted, Cirque du Soleil recently created a show based on re-produced and re-imagined versions of songs by The Beatles.
