Justin Bieber's UK release date for 'Boyfriend' brought forward

Canadian superstar Justin Bieber has announced that the UK release of his new single 'Boyfriend' has been moved forward by more than a month.

The track, which was co-written by 'Cooler Than Me' singer Mike Posner, will now be available on April 8 instead of the originally scheduled date of May 20.

He took to social networking site Twitter earlier this evening, April 2, to confirm the exciting news and wrote:

"Since u have helped my artist @carlyraejepsen go #1 on ITUNES in the UK and since u have been Requesting #BOYFRIEND on radio.... I think we need to move the date up from may 20th to THIS SUNDAY...APRIL 8th! #UKCOUNTDOWN - #BOYFRIEND"

He also recently opened up about the video for 'Boyfriend' and explained that it's a simple concept and he can't wait to unveil it:

"The concept of this video, I mean it's not like a steady concept. It's not like 'Justin follows this girl to this spot.' No, it's a bunch of amazing scenes: Like a fire scene, we have an ice scene."
