Gaga speaks out about age restriction facing Korean tour date
Modern pop icon Lady Gaga has been shocked to discover that her upcoming tour date in Korea has been slapped with an age restriction.
The Born This Way Ball tour is due to kick off on April 27 in Seoul, South Korea, but Little Monsters under the age of 18 will not be permitted to the arena due to Gaga's use of religious iconography, advocacy of homosexuality and glorification of clubbing.
Writing on her official Twitter page late last night (April 2), Gaga explained that parents should be allowed to decide what is appropriate for their children and not a country's government:
"Thanku to all the adults in Korea who are speaking out for underaged who want to come to the BTW Ball. Maybe the gov. will change their mind. Although not affecting ticketsales in Seoul, parents should be given more credit to determine whats [sic] good for their children. I love my fans."
A spokesperson for the event's promoter, Hyundai Card, confirmed to Yahoo!: "Our company will respect the board’s decision and refund all ticketholders younger than 18."
