Actor reveals medical roles helped him to deal with Jessie J stab incident

An actor who attended to a stab victim at a Jessie J event has revealed that working in medical acting roles helped him to deal with the incident.

Kenny Solomons, a 25-year-old actor from Barnet, had seen Jessie J perform at a BlackBerry sponsored event in London on April 3 when a man was stabbed in the neck.

Solomons told the London Evening Standard that he helped the victim - who remains in a serious condition - in the venue by holding his hand to the wound whilst he waited for an ambulance - quick thinking learned through working in medical acting roles. He said:

"I didn't see what happened, the first I knew about it was it all went quiet and I realised people had gathered round something and I could see a man with blood pouring out of his throat. There was an immense amount of blood. It was like nothing I'd ever seen before, it didn't seem real."

He continued: "Everyone reacted really quickly and helped out. The bar staff were great, the events co-ordinator for BlackBerry who was there kept everyone away, everyone did really well. The paramedics only took about five minutes to come and they told me keep my hand on the man's throat until they got him in the ambulance. All I did was common sense, it was just an instinct, it was just what I had seen on television and as an actor I have had a couple of medical roles and that helped."
