One Direction tease details of Saturday Night Live appearance

One Direction have hinted that they may be doing more than just performing when they appear on Saturday Night Live tonight.

The ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ stars, who recently revealed they were in the studio with Justin Bieber, told MTV News that they are hoping for a chance to showcase their sense of humour when they appear alongside Modern Family's Sofia Vergara on the iconic US show.

Niall said: "This is our kind of show. You know, we like to have a bit of a laugh. This is our perfect kind of show [and] we get involved as much as we can. [Fans should expect] just us having a lot of fun on Saturday Night Live.”

Liam then added: "We might be making an appearance after performing as well. Who knows?," before Harry joked: "We're just those guys who think we're funny."

The X-Factor boyband, who recently announced a headline date at Madison Square Garden, then listed Natalie Portman’s rap routine and the Beyonce baby skit as their SNL highlights, with Zayn adding: "I like all the stuff Justin Timberlake's done.”
