Carly Rae Jepsen beats Bieber to the midweek No.1 position

Newcomer Carly Rae Jepsen has managed to cling onto her UK singles chart reign this week as the midweek update revealed she is still at No.1.

'Call Me Maybe' took the country by storm last Sunday after it shot into the top spot and the track is standing its ground against Justin Bieber's brand new offering 'Boyfriend', which was released more than a month early and is right behind at No.2.

Bieber's mentor, Usher, has also entered the UK Top 40 tonight (April 11) at No.3 with his new single 'Climax'.

Elsewhere in the singles chart, The Script's popular 2008 hit 'The Man Who Can't Be Moved' has climbed 2 places to No.16, fun. have entered at No.36 with their anthemic song 'We Are Young', and Beyoncé's 'End Of Time' is a non-mover at No.39.
