Rihanna opens up about grueling 'Battleship' fitness regime, was "so scared" of her trainer

Rihanna has revealed that she was pushed to her physical limits by the drill sergeant who trained her for her role in 'Battleship'.

The Bajan beauty explained to the Daily Mirror that her fitness regime was nothing short of grueling and she was "so scared" of her personal trainer because of his do-or-die approach to working out:

"He yelled at me, cursed me, made me do push-ups and I wanted to curse him, but he probably would have thrown me through the window. I was so scared I just stood there and looked at him and said, 'I swear I'm going to get it right, I swear, I swear, I swear. I'll be good'."

The 'You Da One' songstress also added that despite not understanding why she had to go through such an intense plan at first, she eventually saw the benefits and ended up enjoying the experience:

"At first I didn't see why I had to be yelled at so much. I thought, 'Is this necessary? Really? Do you have to yell or can you just teach me how to stand to attention?' But then I understood how it helped bring me out of my usual comfort zone."

"It was definitely helpful. We used to shoot on a range. I did a lot of training, a lot of discipline. So I had the army etiquette from a young age."
