Carly Rae Jepsen keeps Justin Bieber off UK number one spot

Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ has topped the official UK singles chart for a second week running in a Top 5 dominated by Justin Bieber-related acts.

The Canadian teen idol had to settle for the runner-up position with his comeback single, 'Boyfriend,' charting two places ahead of his former mentor, Usher's new entry, 'Climax,' with Jepsen, the first signing to his Schoolboy Records label, managing to hold strong at the top spot.

Elsewhere, Gotye’s ‘Somebody That I Used To Know,’ Nicki Minaj’s ‘Starships’ and Flo Rida's 'Wild Ones' all clocked up yet another week in the Top 10, Fun look on course to repeat their US success with ‘We Are Young’ climbing from its midweek position of No.36 to No.7, whilst Sway scored his first UK Top 10 hit with ‘Level Up’ at No.8.

In the rest of the Top 40, there were new entries for Breathe Carolina’s ‘Blackout’ (No.22), Jessie J's 'Laserlight' (No.26) and Alex Clare's 'Too Close' (No.37), and re-entries for John Legend's 'Ordinary People' (No.27), Train's 'Drops Of Jupiter' (No.35) and Wheatus' 'Teenage Dirtbag' (No.36).
