Bee Gees star Robin Gibb wakes from coma

62-year-old Robin Gibb has been responding to music and the conversations of family members, according to his wife Dwina.

The Bee Gee slipped into a coma earlier this month during his fight against both cancer and pneumonia, but his loved ones have dedicated so much time to helping his recovery that he has started reacting to their voices and to music played to him.

Gibb's wife, Dwina, reportedly told The Sun newspaper (April 21):

“He’s moving his head and nodding. When we’re asking questions he’s responding to them. I can’t believe it. We’ve been playing music to him all along. I thought he’d respond to it and, when they hooked him up to an ECG scanner, it showed he was."

“We’re very pleased. We think he might even talk once the tubes come out.”

The talented star's spokesman, Doug Wright, also confirmed the news to the BBC and it was revealed that Gibb even shed tears upon being played Roy Orbinson's song, 'Crying'.
