Simon Cowell apologises for unofficial biography's 'embarrassing' content

Music mogul Simon Cowell has publicly apologised to anyone who was offended by the contents of the unofficial biography that was published about him recently.

Tom Bower, the author of the book, exposed Cowell's supposed fling with X Factor colleague Dannii Minogue and lusty intentions towards Cheryl Cole, and he has now spoken out about the biography for the first time:

"I wish to publicly apologise to anyone I embarrassed. Ten years ago if I had read someone would be writing a book about me saying I made loads of money and shagged loads of girls I would have said, ‘Great!’"

The Sun newspaper also quotes him as adding: “I spent the week hiding under a pillow and I couldn’t bear to look at The Sun. I knew it was bad because friends were sending me sweet messages saying, ‘Are you OK?’”

Earlier this week (April 22) Cowell took to social networking site Twitter to congratulate Cheryl Cole on her brand new single 'Call My Name' and even exclaimed that it has the potential to be a "big hit".
