Lady Gaga auctions off tea cup to support Japan's young artists

Pop sensation Lady Gaga has put a beautiful tea cup under the hammer in Japan to raise money for young artists in the country who want to study in the United States.

The cup, which the 'Marry The Night' hitmaker drank out of during a press conference in Tokyo three months after the massive tsunami devastated the area, is up for auction on "Yahoo! Japan Auctions" and bidding began yesterday (April 30).

The auction is set to close at 2pm GMT on Sunday, May 6 and according to W.E.N.N. the bids have already exceeded £56,000 ($80,000).

Proceeds from the exciting sale will be donated to an organisation that helps talented youngsters and artists fulfill their dreams of studying abroad, and the item that Gaga has put up for auction can be seen below:
