Will.i.am defends his approach to The Voice contestants

Will.i.am has moved to defend his approach to contestants on new TV talent show The Voice.

The Black Eyed Peas man is one of four coaches on the show, but he has been criticised by some contestants for not giving them enough attention.

He told the Mirror however that he is just different to the other coaches, and that him not always being there might be misconstrued as being distant. He said

"I've just got a different approach. My coaching is, 'Hey, let's talk'."

He continued: "I'm not worried. I don't get nervous about not being here. It all depends on how you coach. If you focus on trying to unlock the magic within you, there's no coach and no rehearsal which can bring that."
