Music stars react to Beastie Boy Adam Yauch's death

As the tragic news of Beastie Boy Adam "MCA" Yauch's death broke earlier today (May 4), stars of music around the world have taken to the popular social networking site Twitter to pay their respects.

It was announced this evening that Yauch had passed away following a long battle with cancer and musicians and celebrities alike tweeted their reactions to the sad news.

Arizona based rock band Jimmy Eat World wrote: "We're very saddened by the passing of Adam Yauch. RIP MCA. You'll be missed."

Limp Bizkit's frontman Fred Durst posted his own message ("A very sad day indeed. Adam Yauch RIP") and also retweeted something that was originally shared by Blink 182's drummer, Travis Barker, which read:

"Rest In Peace Adam Yauch /MCA. 4ever somebody i looked up to & had the pleasure of meeting. Damn this bums me out, we lost one of the best."

 

 

 

Rev Run also added a tribute and wrote: "R I P Adam... I'm devastated. Praying for Adam Yauch's family from the legendary Beastie Boys. Youll be missed!"

Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong posted: "Lollapalooza94 talked to Yauch almost everyday He was full of wisdom & encouragement for a freaked out kid like I was. Thank you MCA. LoveBJ"
