Tulisa lands her first solo No.1 single with 'Young'

Tulisa Contostavlos has scored her first No.1 single as a solo artist with her debut release, 'Young'.

The N-Dubz songstress managed to knock Carly Rae-Jepsen off the top spot with her catch hit 'Call Me Maybe', which is now at No.2, and beat other tough competition from the likes of Cover Drive with 'Sparks' (No.4) and Train's 'Drive By' (No.7).

Tweeting about her chart success tonight, Tulisa wrote: "It's always been a childhood dream of mine to get a No.1 single! Thank you so much to everyone who bought Young. Xx"

Rihanna's new offering 'Where Have You Been', which she performed on last night's Saturday Night Live, has entered the UK Top 40 at No.21, Avicii's 'Silhouettes' is a new entry at No.26 and Lana Del Rey's sultry cut 'Blue Jeans' is at No.32.

Tulisa was recently named the world's sexiest woman by men's magazine FHM and said of the honour:

"Thank you so much for voting for me. It's a true honour and definitely a lovely confidence boost. I'm proud of me and I am who I am. I know that I'm marmite and I wouldn't wanna be anything less or anything more, I'm just myself."
