Jay-Z reveals plans to curate own festival

Rapper and music mogul Jay-Z has confirmed plans to launch his own festival.

He will oversee the event 'Budweiser Made In America', which will take place over September 1 and 2 at Philadelphia's Fairmount Park.

Jay-Z will headline one of the nights, with proceeds from the event going to charity United Ways. Speaking about the festival, which will run over America's Labour Day, Jay-Z said:

"This Labour Day, we will not only make history but we're benefiting a great organisation. 'Budweiser Made in America' will encompass every genre of music, creating and showcasing the only genre that matters, 'great music'. Budweiser and Live Nation are going to produce an amazing two days of performances, and it's great to partner with United Way again to support all of the positive work they do in the community."

Jay-Z isn't the only big name act to curate their own cross-genre festival this year, with heavy metal icons Metallica bringing together the likes of Arctic Monkeys and Avenged Sevenfold for the Orion festival in June.
