Lana Del Rey wins Best Contemporary Song gong at Ivor Novello Awards

Lana Del Rey has won the Best Contemporary Song gong at this year's Ivor Novello Awards.

She won the award alongside writer Justin Parker for the song 'Video Games' today (May 17) at the ceremony in London.

She beat off competition from Nero's 'Promises' and James Blake's 'The Wilhelm Scream'.

As previously reported, it was revealed that Del Rey's 'Video Games' was initially snubbed by her record label as a single.

The song, which features stripped back instruments and minimal percussion, has however gone on to be a massive hit.
