Gary Barlow enlists Prince Harry for Diamond Jubilee song

Gary Barlow has confirmed that he managed to persuade Prince Harry to appear on a special track to commemorate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee.

The Take That star had been tasked with creating a song in collaboration with Andrew Lloyd Webber to mark the Queen's historic milestone.

Speaking on the Graham Norton show, he confirmed that he managed to convince her grandson Prince Harry to appear on the song - albeit via a tambourine shake. He said:

"We got Prince Harry on the track. We met up with him in Jamaica and I took a tambourine along with me and I said, 'Would you just hit this for us?' He hit it and bang, we spun it into the track."

Barlow meanwhile spoke of Prince Charles' role in the creating the song, with the Royal suggesting that he travel the globe in an effort to make the track more special. Speaking about Prince Charles, Barlow said:

"He said, 'If you really want the Queen to like this, find people. Go and travel and find people'. And it was at that point I had to go back to the BBC and say, 'We need a bit more money because we've got to get on a plane a few times and go off round the world'."
