Adele was asked to headline Glastonbury 2013

Adele was asked to headline next year's Glastonbury festival, it has emerged.

Speaking to the Metro at the Ivor Novello Awards ceremony yesterday (May 17), festival supremo Michael Eavis said that she was in his plans for the 2013 event.

However, he reckons that she was put off by the magnitude of the festival's crowds. He said:

"She knows that we want her anyway, but she doesn't want to do a thing our size. Going on the Pyramid Stage is a bit daunting in front of 80,000 people, it's a bit much really."

He added: "She comes every year usually, and has her own little party."

As previously reported, Adele picked up two awards at the Ivor Novellos, winning the PRS for Music Most Performed Work and Songwriter of the Year prizes.
