Kanye West to debut "short art film" at the Cannes Film Festival

Hitmaker Kanye West has announced plans to release a short film at the Cannes Film Festival next week.

The 'Flashing Lights' superstar, who has already branched out into the fashion world, will unveil another exciting new project entitled 'Cruel Summer' next Wednesday (May 23) at the world-famous French movie event.

A press release for 'Cruel Summer' explains that it is "a fusion of short film and art installation" and promises an "immersive seven-screen experience".

West is no stranger to directing short films and back in 2010 he worked on the lengthy music video for his track, 'Runaway'.

He is currently in the UK with rapper Jay-Z and together the duo will play five nights at London's O2 Arena starting today (May 18), before moving on to Manchester and Birmingham in support of their joint 'Watch The Throne' album.
