Jessie J and Emeli Sandé are among the first names confirmed for a BBC Radio 2 event due to be held in September in London.

The UK radio station is hosting a day of live music at Hyde Park on September 9 and number of acts have been named for its line-up.

Jessie J and Emeli Sandé will be joined by the likes of Paloma Faith as the BBC celebrates the best of British music.

For more older fans, the likes of Status Quo and Average White Band have also been announced.

Speaking about the event, head of music at BBC Radio 2 Jeff Smith said:

"Music is at the heart of Radio 2's output, and with more incredible artists to be announced in the coming weeks, there will be something for everyone at this year's Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park. What better way to end the summer than with a truly British celebration of music."
