The X-Factor judges back Sharon Osbourne to replace Kelly Rowland

The X-Factor judges Gary Barlow, Louis Walsh and Tulisa have named Sharon Osbourne as their ideal choice to replace Kelly Rowland.

Several guest stars, including former winner Leona Lewis, have temporarily stepped in to fill the vacancy left by the US singer’s departure whilst filming for the audition stages takes place. But the three returning judges told the Daily Star they would like to see one of the show’s originals make an unexpected comeback.

Tulisa said: “I’d love Sharon Osbourne to come back. She’s the female boss,” while Walsh, who worked with Osbourne on the first four series, added: “I’d love Sharon to come back too. I always had so much fun with her.”

Gary Barlow went onto agree with his colleagues’ suggestion whilst also throwing another former judge’s name into the ring: “Sharon isn’t a stupid suggestion. She’d be amazing. Like Tulisa said, she’s the ultimate female boss. I don’t know if she would come back. I don’t really know anything about the politics.

“I personally thought Dannii would be great too. The only thing is the show likes to move forward so that might be a problem.”

However, the Take That star admitted it’s unlikely that Spice Girl Geri Halliwell will be asked to join the panel full-time following her appearance earlier this week:

“I don’t think the audience liked her. She got booed. I like Geri, I’ve known her for years, she’s got a good energy but I don’t know if she should be on the panel, to be honest. But I’d give her a few more days.

“I remember us guys last year, it took us a few weeks to get into that role of being a voice.”
