Emeli Sande returns to UK album chart number one spot

Emeli Sande's 'Our Version Of Events' has today returned to the UK album chart number one spot.

An ever present in the Top 10 since its release earlier this year, the album climbed from its No.4 midweek position to deny Joe Bonamassa’s ‘Driving Towards The Daylight' (No.2) and John Mayer’s ‘Born and Raised’ (No.4) pole position in a competitive battle which also included Adele's '21' (No.3).

Elsewhere, there were new entries inside the Top 10 for The Enemy’s ‘Streets In The Sky,’ Tom Jones’ ‘Spirit In The Room’ and Fun’s ‘Some Nights,’ Bee Gees’ ‘Number Ones' rose to No.5 following the death of Robin Gibb, whilst last week’s chart-topper, Keane’s ‘Strangeland,’ plummeted to outside the Top 10.

In a busy week for new releases, there were also chart debuts for Paul Buchanan’s ‘Mid Air,’ The Cult’s ‘Choice Of Weapon,’ The Temper Trap’s ‘Infectious,’ Saint Etienne’s ‘Words and Music,’ and Slash’s ‘Apocalyptic Love.'
