Fun climb to UK number one spot in 7th week on singles chart

Fun’s single, ‘We Are Young,’ has today reached the UK number one spot in its seventh week on the singles chart.

The US group’s collaboration with Janelle Monae initially trailed behind The Wanted’s ‘Chasing The Sun’ in the midweeks, but made up the gap to deny the boyband their third chart-topper almost two months after making its debut.

Carly Rae Jepsen’s ‘Call Me Maybe’ held firm at No.3, last week’s number one, Rita Ora’s ‘R.I.P.’ tumbled to No.4, whilst there were new entries inside the Top 20 for Paloma Faith’s ‘Picking Up The Pieces’ (No.7) and Jennifer Lopez’s ‘Dance Again' (No.11).

Elsewhere, Gavin DeGraw’s ‘I Don’t Want To Be’ re-entered at No.27, seven years after peaking at No.38, following his performance on the final episode of One Tree Hill, Pitbull’s Men In Black III theme, ‘Back In Time' (No.23), Kylie Minogue's 'Time Bomb' (No.31) and Martin Solveig’s ‘The Night Out’ (No.36) made their chart debuts, whilst there were climbs for Professor Green & Ruth Anne’s ‘Remedy’ (No.18) and Coldplay & Rihanna’s ‘Princess of China’ (No.20).
