Lawson insist they’re nothing like One Direction

Lawson have insisted that they are nothing like One Direction, describing the X-Factor boyband as ‘younger, better-looking and cooler. ‘

The UK quartet, who entered the charts at No.4 last week with their debut single, ‘When She Was Mine,’ told The Sun that despite their friendship with the ‘One Thing’ stars, they see themselves as a very different type of act.

Frontman Andy Brown said: "It's not that we don’t like being compared to them but we think we’re so different. Call us whatever you want, but we’re nothing like 1D.

"They’re a lot younger than us for a start and probably better looking, cooler guys! Seriously, they’re a proper, traditional boyband and we're not. If you watch our live show you really get the vibe of what we are."

The 21-year-old, who was previously in boyband Avenue alongside The Wanted’s Max George, went onto reveal who they would like to be compared with:

“If you watch our live show you really get the vibe of what we are. We basically do a rock show with loud, guitar solos. We actually we had fireworks for the first time ever the other week.

"We'd prefer to be likened to One Republic, Maroon 5 or a pop-ier Kings Of Leon. That’s who we aspire to be, but we know we’re not that rock 'n' roll."
