Gary Barlow's 'Sing' named top selling No.1 single of 2012

Gary Barlow's 'Sing' has been named the biggest selling No.1 single of the year so far.

As previously reported, Barlow notched up a chart double yesterday (June 10) as his Diamond Jubilee track 'Sing' and its accompanying EP landed at No.1 in the singles and albums charts respectively.

According to the Official Charts Company, Barlow's single sold a massive 142,000 copies since the Diamond Jubilee Concert last Monday (June 4).

That means that the track is now the top selling first week single of the year so far, topping DJ Fresh and Rita Ora's 'Hot Right Now', which shifted 128,000 copies in its first week.

Elsewhere in this week's chart, Adele's monolithic '21' dropped out of the albums chart top ten for the first time since its release back in January 2011.
