Lawson on One Direction comparisons: 'We like to put on a rock show, that's different to the boys'

Newcomers Lawson have opened up about the constant comparisons to other British boybands and explained they're nothing like heartthrobs One Direction.

The lads have already spoken about being likened to the 'What Makes You Beautiful' hitmakers, but have now admitted that the only real similarity is the fact that they're an all-male group.

Talking to Entertainmentwise before their performance at Capital FM's Summertime Ball on June 9, they said:

"We play our own instruments. We've got guitars and we like to put on a rock show. That's a bit different to the boys."

Lawson also revealed that they haven't been recognised walking down the street too much yet, but expect that will change dramatically over the next few months:

"Not really, we want to! Our first single went to No4... but we're still quite a new band so not that many people know us yet, though. Hopefully we'll have girls throw themselves at us soon!"
