Kelis discusses deeper, darker & 90s influenced new album
Kelis has revealed that her upcoming sixth studio album will be more electro, deeper & darker than her previous material.
The 32-year-old, who performed at the Isle of Wight Festival at the weekend, told the NME that she’s halfway through the recording of the follow-up to 2010’s 'Flesh Tone':
"It depends what day you ask me, some days I'm like 'It's 80% done' and other days when I say 'I'm 40% done'. I'm sort of midway I guess. It's exciting though, it's more electro, it's a little deeper and darker."
The New Yorker then announced that she will be launching a range of cooking sauces, having qualified as a chef since her absence from the music scene:
“I love lifestyle stuff, I love housewares. I'm really a homebody, honestly. Anything to do with my kitchen, or my house, I'm all about it. I'm working on a sauce line, so that's kind of exciting. I'm a saucier."
