Linkin Park beat Maroon 5 to UK album chart top spot

Linkin Park have beaten Maroon 5 in the battle for this week’s UK album chart number one.

The nu-metallers’ fifth studio album, ‘Living Things,’ narrowly charted ahead of the funk-rock outfit’s fourth record, ‘Overexposed,’ to join 2003’s ‘Meteora’ and 2007’s ‘Minutes To Midnight’ on their list of chart-toppers.

Ed Sheeran’s ‘+’ rose to No.3, last week’s number one, Justin Bieber’s ‘Believe,’ dropped to No.4, while Jay-Z & Kanye West’s ‘Watch The Throne’ climbed back into the Top 10 following their performance at Radio 1’s Hackney Weekend.

Elsewhere, there were new entries for Flo Rida’s ‘Wild Ones,’ Ginger Wildheart’s ‘100 Percent,’ Netsky’s ‘2,’ Levellers’ ‘Static On The Airwaves,’ Metric’s ‘Synthetica,’ The Offspring’s ‘Days Go By’ and Jedward’s ‘Young Love.’
