Adele and Gotye named biggest selling acts in the UK this year

Adele and Gotye have been named as the biggest selling acts in the UK this year so far.

According to the Official Charts Company, Adele's '21' has been the top selling album of 2012 so far whilst Gotye's 'Somebody That I Used To Know' has sold the most amount of singles.

Following Adele on the 2012 album list is Emeli Sandé's 'Our Version of Events', whilst Lana Del Rey's 'Born To Die' takes the bronze medal.

Elsewhere on the album list, Ed Sheeran's '+' is named the fourth top selling album of the year so far, swatting away Coldplay's 'Mylo Xyloto' to No.5.

In the single list, Carly Rae Jepsen's smash hit 'Call Me Maybe' lands at No.2 with David Guetta's 'Titanium' bringing up the rear.
