Maroon 5 return to UK number one spot with 'Payphone'

Maroon 5 have returned to the top of the UK singles chart with ‘Payphone.’

The funk-rock outfit, who were knocked off last week by Will.i.am’s ‘This Is Love’ (No.3) narrowly pipped Chris Brown’s ‘Don’t Wake Me Up’ to the top spot in one of the closest chart battles of the year.

Flo-Rida held firm at No.4 with ‘Whistle,’ Stooshe rose to No.5 with ‘Black Heart,’ while Fun’s former number one, ‘We Are Young,’ climbed back up to No.7.

Elsewhere, there were new entries for Blur’s ‘Under The Westway’ (No.34), and Dappy’s ‘I’m Coming’ (No.35), and climbs for Nicki Minaj’s ‘Pound The Alarm’ (No.16) and Lady Antebellum’s ‘Need You Now’ (No.22).
