Justin Bieber sued for $9 million over hearing damage

A woman is suing Justin Bieber for $9 million as a result of alleged hearing damage.

TMZ reports that the lawsuit has been filed by Stacey Wilson Betts, who took her daughter to a Bieber concert in July 2010.

The claim alleges that Betts suffered hearing damage and hearing loss as a result of the high volume of screaming at the concert.

It said that Bieber "created a wave like effect of screaming by pointing into various sections of the arena".

Speaking about her injuries in the lawsuit, Betts claims: "I was injured by a sound blast that exceeded safe decibel levels. I suffer hearing loss, tinnitus and hyperacusis in both ears."

She is suing Bieber, his record label Def Jam, the concert promoter and the venue itself for a total of $9.23 million.
