The Who announce 'Quadrophenia' tour

Iconic rock outfit The Who have announced excited details of a tour that will bring their 1973 rock opera "Quadrophenia" to life.

Surviving original members Pete Townshend and Roger Daltrey confirmed the news earlier today (July 18) during a web press conference, and Daltrey described performing alongside long-time friend and band member Townshend like being in a "war zone... something happens on stage."

"Pete drives me. It's rarely dull."

The tour will begin on November 1 in Florida and is set to run until February 26 where it will come to a close in Rhode Island.

The Who will also be involved in the finale for London's Olympic Games and Daltrey revealed some details about the project, adding:

"We have recorded a piece of music that is a fabulous ending for the Olympics and just shows the great music that has come out of this country. This country has put some fabulous music out into the world."
