Harry Styles' mother reveals shock after fan posts his birth certificate on Twitter

One Direction's Harry Styles must be used to fans getting up close and personal by now, but his mother still finds it shocking.

Styles' mum, Anne Cox, publicly revealed her surprise yesterday (July 18) when one of her son's followers tweeted a link to his birth certificate. Cox posted a message to the girl and asked incredulously: "Why would you even have that?"

The Twitter user who shared a photograph of the document then replied and explained that she was able to get a copy of it because it's in the public domain, but still apologised for her actions:

"@anne42cox sorry didn't intend to cause offence, you can get any record on the internet nothing is private anymore, sorry x"

Following this incident, the fan was met with messages of "hate" from other One Direction lovers and in a bid to stop their harsh words added: "Can we just move on from the posts last night now, I've said sorry + deleted so just stop with the hate please?"

"I have apologised to Anne, obviously didn't intend to cause offence, I wouldn't post stuff that contains private information :-("

"So sorry if anyone's offended by seeing birth records even though we already know when they were born but seriously sorry to anyone it upset."
