Amy Winehouse's father has opened the door for Lady Gaga to play the role of the singer in a biopic - but only if she stumps up the cash, it seems.

Gaga has previously been linked to playing the role of the late Amy Winehouse should there ever be a film made about her life.

Father Mitch Winehouse hinted to the Daily Star that he remains somewhat sceptical about the idea of a biopic, but he reportedly told the newspaper that he'd let Gaga play the role if she paid £10m. He said:

"If Gaga gives me £10m I will consider it. I think it might be advisable to get an English actress, although Gaga has got the look about her. It is something which we might think about."

The one year anniversary of Amy Winehouse's death (July 23) was recently commemorated, with a host of music stars paying tribute to the singer.
