Katherine Jackson breaks silence as she denounces kidnap rumours

Katherine Jackson has broken her silence on reports that she left her family in confused limbo by decamping to Arizona for a number of days.

The matriarch of the Jackson family has been the subject of intense media speculation following reports that some relatives filed a missing persons complaint.

Days later officials from Arizona confirmed that Katherine Jackson was doing okay, despite Michael Jackson's child and her granddaughter Paris Jackson tweeting that she hadn't heard from her grandmother.

Katherine Jackson has now lost custody of Michael Jackson's three children, with grandson TJ Jackson gaining temporary control.

She appeared however on ABC News on Wednesday (July 25) - along with relatives such as Janet Jackson - to read a statement. Speaking about reports she was kidnapped, she said:

"There are rumours going around about me that I have been kidnapped and held against my will. I am here today to let everybody know that I am fine and I am here with my children, and my children would never do a thing to me like that, holding me against my will. It's very stupid for people to think that."

Paris Jackson meanwhile took to Twitter today (July 26) to state that she still hasn't seen her grandmother despite being told that she would be returning on July 25. She said:

"They promised my grandmother would be home YESTERDAY. Why isn't she home?"
