The One Direction star had told his fans on the social networking website that he would speak to them via Twitcam after taking a shower, tweeting:

"Guys...im just gona get a quick shower..then im gona do a twitcam to update you guys on what's goin on! sound good? cya soon."

The thought of a freshly showered Horan caught the attention of many One Direction fans - but a number of users couldn't connect to the webchat as fans hurriedly logged on at the same time.

The whole Twitter system crashed soon after - but a Twitter spokeswoman told The Sun that it was because of a worldwide power outage, not Horan.
