Little Mix’s Perrie Edwards has opened up about her relationship with Zayn Malik, claiming that it isn’t a problem that they spend a lot of time apart.

The 19-year-old, who has been dating the One Direction star for the last five months, told Fabulous Magazine that the pair have got their priorities straight when asked about their romance:

“Yes, it’s official. We were never together when I was on the show, but we did talk a lot. I met him on the charity single ['Wishing On A Star'] and he was just really sweet and we’ve been friends since then.

“It’s not difficult to have a relationship when you’re so busy, it’s just a case of knowing what your priorities are. Things do happen and it’s not you that changes, it’s your life that changes.”

The South Shields singer, whose band release second single, ‘Wings,’ next month, went on to admit that she hates the paparazzi photos which appeared to confirm the rumours that she was seeing the ‘One Thing’ heart-throb:

“Please don’t talk about those awful photos! When I saw them in the paper I felt like being sick because I wish I’d got my roots done. I never dress up during the day so when I get caught off-guard I look like a tramp every time!

“From now on I’m going to make an effort. The first thing I did when I saw those photos was go and get my hair dyed.”
