Courtney Love tells Lana Del Rey to think of her genitals next time she sings Nirvana cover

Courtney Love has explained the meaning behind some of the lyrics to Nirvana's 'Heart Shaped Box' after Lana Del Rey covered the song.

Del Rey performed the seminal grunge band's track in Australia recently and Love, who was married to frontman Kurt Cobain, took to Twitter to comment on her cover directly.

She said to Del Rey that the song is about her "vagina" and that the 'Video Games' star should think of it next time she sings the song. Love said:

"You do know the song is about my Vagina right? throw down your umbilical noose so i can climb right back umm. On top of which some of the lyrics about my vagina i contributed. so umm next time you sing it, think about my vagina will you? lol xc."

Love is then said to have deleted the tweets before adding:

"You are gorgeous and very talented, it was all in good humour love, it is true however bwahaa xc."
