Aiden Grimshaw says debut album as 'like a journal'

Aiden Grimshaw has described his debut album as ‘like a journal.’

The Blackpool singer, who finished ninth in the 2010 seventh series of The X-Factor, told the Metro that ‘Misty Eye’ is inspired by his experiences since leaving the talent show:

‘I fully appreciate the only reason I’m sat here is because I was on the telly but the two years between being 18 and 20 are so mental.’

“The things I’ve written about... there was a lot going on and confusion and getting p***ed all the time.

“It’s like a journal, I only understand it properly when I listen to the whole album. It’s like, “s*** yeah, that’s what I was doing”. It’s pretty spot on.”

The 20-year-old, whose second single, 'Curtain Call,' is released today, went on to admit that he hasn’t exactly been leading a glamorous lifestyle since his X-Factor exit:

“In reality, I've been sat in my pants watching Bear Grylls, Last night, I spent four hours watching the Olympics and eating beans."
