Tom Daley up for starring in a One Direction music video

Olympic star Tom Daley has put himself forward to appear in a future One Direction music video.

The 18-year-old diver captured the hearts and minds of the British public after performing at London 2012, where he won a bronze medal in the men's 10m platform event.

He also seemingly attracted the interest of boyband One Direction too, who tweeted him throughout the games.

Speaking to heat, Daley revealed that he has met all of the band and even suggested he could appear in one of their music videos - although he said he'd need to look to new friend Cheryl Cole for singing and dancing advice. He said:

"I've met them all and I'm in contact with most of them. They're all really nice guys. Louis [Tomlinson] came and watched the [London 2012 Olympics 10 metre diving] final. Liam [Payne] wanted to but couldn't get tickets."

Daley added: "If they ever need me for a music video, I'll go in the background and do a bit of clicking. I'm not a singer though. Cheryl [Cole] will need to teach me to sing and dance."
