Afrojack admits apprehension at remixing Michael Jackson’s 'Bad'

Afrojack has admitted he was initially apprehensive about remixing Michael Jackson’s iconic hit single, 'Bad.'

The superstar DJ, who has reworked the track for 'Bad25,' a special edition of the King of Pop’s 1987 album, told MTV News that he took some persuading when he was offered the task:

"The first time I heard about it, I was like, 'I'm not sure if I even want to do this because it's f**king Michael Jackson'.

"It's an honour, but I was like, 'Are you sure?' I talked about the schedules not working and they tried everything to get me to do the remix. They even got a plane to fly me to the original studio where it was recorded in LA to make it happen."

However, the 24-year-old, who also invited Pitbull to appear on the new version, now admits he’s glad he took up the challenge:

"You sit down and you first take a good, deep breath and realise what the f**k you're doing. Then you just do it. It's scary s**t. He's passed away, he's the biggest legend of pop music ever. People will say it's disrespectful, it sucks or you can never touch anything Michael did.

"I accepted it and started on it and tried to make a 2012 version of the song for a new generation."
